Rememery is a digital memorial platform that helps families create lasting tributes for loved ones — combining slideshow generation, permanent legacy sites and physical QR code plaques into one seamless product. I built the entire back-end and application layer from scratch: everything except the marketing landing pages.
The platform centres around a family-facing account system. One person creates a memorial, adds a bio and photo, then shares a unique upload link. Friends and family submit photos and videos directly from their phones — no app required. Every submission goes through a moderation queue before the account holder approves it for publication.
The most technically involved piece was the automatic slideshow generator. Approved media is compiled server-side into a professionally-timed tribute video, complete with music. The pipeline handles mixed aspect ratios, video transcoding via FFmpeg, and produces a downloadable file ready for a funeral service or family gathering — with no manual editing required by the family.
On top of that I built the legacy site system: a permanent, branded memorial website that persists indefinitely and supports ongoing contributions. Families can keep adding memories long after the service. The CMS gives administrators full control over content, user accounts, orders and product tiers — with plans ranging from slideshow-only through to the full bundle with weatherproof QR plaque.
